As a Heartburn Coach for Prevacid®24HR, Dr. Brian Fennerty will help educate consumers about the problem of frequent heartburn in America and how, through lifestyle adjustments and the right medication, sufferers may be able to say goodbye to frequent heartburn and start enjoying a more full life with their family and friends.
Dr. Fennerty is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon. He received his undergraduate degree at the State University of New York at Albany and his MD from Creighton University in Nebraska. He performed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, California, followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Fennerty was instrumental in the development of the Experience of Frequent Heartburn in America, 2009 study, presented the results of a Prevacid®24HR clinical trial at the 2009 Digestive Disease Week conference and was an author of the article published in Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics on the same study.
Additionally, Dr. Fennerty has published more than 300 papers, book chapters, and abstracts including several papers in the New England Journal of Medicine and JAMA. He is currently the Editor of Journal of Medicine and JournalWatch Gastroenterology and the past founding editor of Reviews in Gastroenterological Disorders as well as past Associate Editor of American Journal of Gastroenterology and Clinical Perspectives in Gastroenterology. He has also served on the editorial board of a number of professional publications, including Archives of Internal Medicine, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and Evidence-Based Gastroenterology.
Dr. Fennerty is a past member and current consultant of the FDA Advisory Panel on Gastrointestinal and Urological Devices as well as the past chair of the Imaging and Advanced Technology section of the AGA and the Research Committee of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). He is currently the Secretary and incoming President-Elect of the ASGE as well as a member of the Gastroenterology Committee for the American Board of Internal Medicine.

May take 1-4 days for full effect, although some people get complete relief of symptoms within 24 hours. Use as directed for 14 days to treat frequent heartburn.
